Iranian School of San Diego is Getting Ready for its 38th Year of Service 
2025 – 2026 School Year: In – Person and Online Classes
Registration for ISSD’s academic year 2025 – 2026 starts online for the entire month of August and ends on Saturday, August 31, 2025. To register, please visit www.issd.pccsd.org.
Classes will start on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon. The extracurricular classes of dance, music, theater, and drawing will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Classes will be held at Mt. Carmel High School, located at 9550 Carmel Mountain Road, San Diego, California, 92127.
In addition to the regular in – person classes, ISSD will continue to offer online classes for students who cannot attend the physical classes, including those from other geographic areas. These classes are tentatively scheduled for Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or Sundays from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
ISSD is accredited by all local school districts, which means that high school students can take the Persian language at ISSD to fulfill their second language requirement. These students should obtain their specific language form from their high schools and send them to issd@pccsd.org before September 15, 2025.
These are the classes offered at ISSD:
Persian Language Classes: Meeting Sunday mornings at Mt. Carmel High School or online
Pre – K classes for 5 year – old students.
Kindergarten classes for 6 – year- old students.
Persian language classes from Persian 1 (P – 1) through Persian 6 (P – 6),
for 7 year old and older students. Each level takes one year to complete.
Persian language classes for adults—beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
Extracurricular Activities: Persian Dance (for ages 5 to adult), Persian Music, Theater, Acting and Art Creation, Drawing and Painting, and Persian Conversation. Classes meet once a week on Sundays from 12 noon to 1 p.m.
General Notes:
ISSD will provide textbooks, notebooks, and folders for all students. The materials will be distributed in the classrooms. If you are attending the online classes, you can obtain materials from the Iranian American Center (6790 Top Gun Street #7, San Diego, CA 92121) or they can be mailed to your address.

Project 200
The three winners of the fundraising for street children of Tehran—in cooperation with Dollar a Month Foundation (DMF), along with the students of Mrs. Shoushtari’s class—received their awards on Sunday, April 27, and had pizza with the school principal.
Talent Show Competition
The second talent show competition of the school was held on the evening of May 3, 2025, at the Iranian American Center. Participants included: Roxana Naghshvar, Melody Mofidi, Elise Mofidi, Delara Komizi, Hannah Sharifi, Arman Kashani, Ava Kashani, Ryan Abrishami, Sarina Razaghi, Elika Sabouri, Tianaz Vatankhah, and Shayan Nadri. The students showcased their talents in dance, music, and singing. Three teachers served as judges for the competition. At the end, the participants were appreciated.

End of the Year Celebration
On Sunday, June 8, 2025, we celebrated the end of the school year. The program started with students joining on stage and singing “Ey Iran.” Ali Sadr, ISSD’s principal, welcomed the students and parents. The graduates of the Class of 2025 marched on stage to receive their certificates. The teachers then joined them for a celebration. The winners of the Reading Olympics were announced and received their awards. The student Teaching Assistants were called on stage to be recognized. The program continued with performances by the school’s Persian Dance Academy dancers, performing a beautiful and colorful dance. The theater group performed a play called The Numbers. Students then joined the groups for apple – eating and watermelon – eating contests. Several teams participated in an exciting musical chairs competition. After the games, students received their report cards and enjoyed pizza.
