On August 28, 2022, family and friends gathered at El Camino Memorial Park to bid farewell to a very gracious lady. Touran Beizaee was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She passed away on August 16, 2022. She was sincere, generous, and caring for her family and community, leaving an enormous void by her departure, and will be missed greatly. She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Jamshid Beizaee, her sons Dr. Arash Beizaee and Dr. Babak Beizaee, and four grandchildren. Our deepest condolences to all family members. May she rest in peace at her eternal home.
In Loving Memory of Edward (Ed) Perry
Founder of Los Angelitos Orphanage
May 9, 1944 – May 5, 2022
Beloved father to all children, brother, uncle, friend, and good friend of the Iranian community,
Edward Perry, founding father of Los Angelitos Orphanage, will be remembered and dearly missed by all those lives he touched. After a hard-fought battle with cancer, he passed away a couple of days before his 78th birthday. He will always be remembered for his dedication, love, kindness, and compassion for the children in need in Tijuana, Mexico.
In 2003, Eduardo created a “casa” with a “familia” for these young children that would change their lives forever. He dedicated almost 20 years of his life to “his children” at the Los Angelitos Orphanage in Tijuana, with his care, guidance, education, and support. He is an inspiration to all whose lives he has touched.
We will continue working with Los Angelitos Orphanage and we always will remember Ed.
The Dadkhah Family
Iranians in San Diego become the voice of the voiceless.
After the tragic death of Mahsa Amini at the hands of the “morality police” in Tehran, demonstrations and riots started in Tehran and Saghez (in Kordistan) and soon spread to more than 80 cities in Iran. Subsequently, Iranians all over the western world started candlelight vigils and rallies in support of the youth and women in Iran, to bring their suffering to the attention of the local people and officials.
Here in San Diego, the first gathering was a candlelight vigil in front of the House of Iran in Balboa Park on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Hundreds of Iranians and supporters gathered there and then moved to the center of the park. The second gathering was the following day in front of the Federal Building in downtown San Diego.
On October 1, in coordination with the worldwide demonstrations and rallies, Iranians gathered at San Diego’s Crown Point Park, with Mayor Todd Gloria joining the rally and giving a speech in solidarity with the women and youth of Iran. On this day over half a million Iranians and their supporters showed their solidarity in over 150 cities all over the world.
On the evening of October 5, the County of San Diego building was illuminated green, white, and red in solidarity with the Iranian people.
The next demonstration was on October 8 in front of the Hall of Justice in downtown San Diego. There have been demonstrations every Saturday in the same place since.
