This year, most classes will be held in person.
As in the past, in-person classes will be held at Carmel High School.

Online classes will be conducted via Zoom on Sunday afternoons and on other days as well. This year, we have more than 300 in-person students in 22 classes, including kindergarten, preschool, Persian classes 1 through 6, and for adults. Online classes include two classes.

In addition, art, theater, and dance classes are also offered in person.

Please note that the audio version of the Persian textbooks 1 through 6 is available to students through the school’s website: www.issd.pccsd.org

Mehregan Festival

The Mehregan festival was held on Sunday, October 4, in the school’s grass area. The PTA organized a magnificent celebration for the children and their families. The program began with the children performing the anthem “Ey Iran.”

A beautiful Mehregan table was set up by Mrs. Hashemi. The students learned various points about Mehregan. During the gathering, questions about Mehregan and other festivals were posed by the school principal; the students answered and received prizes. At the end, students, teachers, and parents were treated to ash-e reshteh (a Persian noodle dish) and fruit, prepared by the PTA.

Mehregan, also known as the Mehr Festival, is one of the ancient and important Iranian celebrations, held on the 16th of Mehr month (the day of Mehr within the month of Mehr). Mehregan is a festival of upholding Mehr (love/affection) and friendship, a celebration of the harvest and gratitude for abundance, and a celebration of Fereydoun’s victory over Zahhak (good over evil).

The next school festival is Yalda Night, which is held on December 20. We are eagerly looking forward to celebrating Yalda with you.
